About this End User License Agreement
- This End User License Agreement (or “EULA”) governs the relationship between you and the Fantasia Staff;
- This EULA incorporates the rules and guidelines that apply to your use of the game, website and forum. These can be found further down in this document under sections 3 and 4. Please review them carefully before playing the game or using any of the associated services;
- The Fantasia Staff reserves the right to make amendments to this EULA at any time. The latest version of this EULA will always be available on the Fantasia forum. Changes to this EULA shall not affect your accrued rights and shall not have retroactive effect. You hereby agree that any use of the game, website or Discord server will be deemed as an acceptance of such changes;
- The Fantasia Staff reserves the right to deploy or provide both hardware and software patches, updates, additional content or other modifications to the game or associated services. These changes may not be accompanied with forewarning. You hereby agree that any use of the game, website or Discord server will be deemed as an acceptance of such changes, and;
- For the purposes of this document, the use of “we,” “us,” “our,” and any personal pronouns refers to the Fantasia Staff, and any second and third person identifiers refer to you, the user.
Registering a game account
Upon registering a game account with Fantasia, you agree to be subject to the following conditions:- You are only permitted to register 1 (one) game account with Fantasia;
- You alone are responsible for any and all characters on said game account, and, in the case of multiple (illicit) registered accounts, any actions taken against one account registered to you will apply to all of your registered accounts;
- You must be over the age of 13 and have the capacity and authority to enter into this agreement. If you are under 13 years of age, your parent or guardian must review and approve this EULA on your behalf. If you are under the aforesaid age, you must not use or access the game without a parent’s or legal guardian’s supervision. We reserve the right to terminate any accounts that are found to be in violation of this clause without notice, and;
- You are required to provide us with a valid email address, your IP address, MAC address and Hardware ID. You agree that this data may be used to verify your rights to the account, the uniqueness of the account, and for any account security issues. We reserve the right to terminate your game account or restrict your access to the game and our services at our discretion if we find that any of the provided information is falsified or otherwise invalid.
Furthermore, you agree that your registered usernames and characters’ in-game names (or “IGN”) will be subject to the following conditions:
- The names may not contain anything vulgar, defamatory, hateful, discriminatory or derogatory related to race, ethnicity, national identity, sex, sexual orientation, personal identity and religious belonging, including any alternate spellings meant to circumvent the restrictions;
- The names must be no longer than 12 characters, no shorter than 4 characters, and be restricted to only alphanumeric characters of upper- and lower-case;
- The names must not contain implications that you are part of the Fantasia Staff, including, but not limited to, the use of “Dev”, “GM”, or “Admin”, or imply that you have any special privileges;
- The names must not be used to promote or advertise any activities that breach this EULA, and;
- The names may be changed or altered, and your associated characters removed or restricted at any time if they are found to breach this EULA, at our discretion.
Game Rules
By installing, copying, or otherwise using our game “Fantasia”, our website or forum or (referenced as “associated services” hereafter) in any manner, you agree to be bound by these rules.If you do not agree with these rules, you must not proceed with the registration process, and refrain from the use of our game and associated services.
General Provisions
- All players are solely responsible for their behavior in the game and associated services. Players are responsible for protecting their account from access by others and are strongly encouraged to select a hard-to-guess password and not re-use it on any other sites where it may be read by the owners or administrators of that site.
- The Fantasia Staff reserves the right to evaluate each incident on a case by case basis.
- All players who use our game or associated services agree that the rules will be upheld regardless of the circumstances in which they may have been breached.
- All players who use our game or associated services agree that they are not entitled to any form of refund of currency or credit, in case their accounts are suspended or other action is taken against them in order to preserve the integrity of the game, at the discretion of the Fantasia Staff.
- In the case of a breach of any of the following rules, the users have the right to one appeal in which they may present any evidence of their innocence, after which the decision made by the Fantasia Staff is final, and they are no longer entitled to any further appeals.
Ban durations
- Temporary ban: Your game account will have its access to the game revoked for the duration of your ban. Violating the same rule again while your ban is still in effect may lead to escalated actions being taken against any other new or existing (illicit) account(s) belonging to you as well as the account which was originally banned.
- Account ban: Your game account(s) will be permanently suspended from the game. Any other accounts that belong to you at the time of your ban will also be account banned.
- Accessing or tampering with any account which was not registered by you. This includes phishing, and attempting or soliciting to obtain any private account information from any other individual who has registered an account with Fantasia, through any method;
- Using or benefiting from third party software, including editing or defacing any part of the game in order to gain an abnormal advantage over others, or inhibiting others from accessing our services, as well as selling, advertising, distributing or spreading information related to these acts;
- Exploiting any sort of glitch, unintended feature, flaw in game design, or using third party software, to duplicate in-game items or currency, or in order to gain an abnormal advantage over others, including knowingly possessing or requesting such items or currency;
- Transmitting or facilitating the transmission of, access to any website, sources of software or other content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, or designed for phishing personal data or invading another’s right to privacy, or contain viruses, trojan horses or items of similar nature;
- Monitoring the actions of the game, via third party software or otherwise, including “packet sniffing”, for any purpose;
- Using the game for any sort of commercial purpose, including but not limited to, soliciting or exchanging in-game items, currency or services for any service or currency outside of Fantasia, as well as any and all solicitation, advertisement or other promotion of the aforementioned, regardless of the location of the act;
- Accessing the game using damaged, edited or outdated files, or any file not provided by the Fantasia staff, including but not limited to, changes to the User Interface (“UI”);
- Sharing your account, or any sensitive information pertaining to your account, with any other individual, with or without permission, regardless of how the information was shared, and regardless of whether you are actively playing the game or not, and;
- Filing a chargeback after having donated to Fantasia.
Additionally, you acknowledge that committing any of the following acts will result in a 14 day temporary ban if it is your first offense, or an account ban if it is your second offense:
- Registering more than one game account with Fantasia. (NOTE: If it is your first offense, you may choose one account which will be subject to the 14 day temporary ban. All other accounts registered to you will be account banned.)
- Expressing or implying that you are a member of the Fantasia Staff if you are not recognized as such by the Fantasia Administration;
- Advertising any sort of external commercial opportunities of any nature, or providing access to any sources that do so;
- Collecting private information about any individual associated with the game or its community, without their expressed consent, and sharing this in any way in the game, website or public discord server;
- Engaging in gameplay that is robotic or automatic, and allows your character to function without your presence or interaction;
- Bypassing, or attempting to do so, the restrictions of voting for Fantasia more than once per 24 hours on Gtop100.com;
- Intentionally deceiving others during in-game transactions to gain any sort of advantage in the game, and;
- Submitting false reports with the intention of deceiving the Fantasia Staff, including, but not limited to, tampering with evidence or selectively submitting evidence with the intention of creating a skewed narrative.
Finally, you acknowledge that committing any of the following acts will result in a 7 day temporary ban if it is your first offense, a 14 day temporary ban if it is your second offense, and an account ban if it is your third offense:
- Engaging in targeted and repeated harassment, insults, or threats directed at other players or Staff, or engaging in speech that bypasses the in-game language filter which is enabled by default, or is derogatory on the basis of race, nationality, religion, culture, sex, sexuality or personal identity, or publicly accusing other players of having committed an offense, regardless of its legitimacy, and;
- Disrupting or sabotaging other players’ ability to properly play the game, such as via repeatedly following another user to kill their monsters, or loot items belonging to them, or another individual not part of your party or expedition, or repeatedly targeting another individual with the intention of causing their character’s death, or sabotaging any other activity in the game.
Forum Rules
This forum is here to provide you with a friendly space where you can discuss ideas, participate in events, share and receive gameplay advice, market in-game items in a way that is compliant with the Game Rules, or discuss any other aspects of Fantasia with other players.Community forums truly shine when you treat your fellow posters with respect and courtesy. Therefore, we ask that you conduct yourself in a civilized manner when participating on this forum, and respect the rules.
Access to the forum is a privilege, not a right. We reserve the right to suspend your access to the forum at any time for reasons that include, but are not limited to, your failure to abide by the rules outlined below. If you are found to violate any of the forum rules, the policy outlined below will be followed.
Note that the guidelines are not exhaustive, and may not address all manner of offensive behavior. As such, the Staff shall have full discretion to address any behavior that we feel is inappropriate or offensive.
General Provisions
- There is no requirement for you to use your real name or any other form of identification that can be used to trace your identity, and all email addresses and personal identifiers such as sex and age will be kept private by default. We recommend that you do not share any information that may be used to locate your personal identity with other users, including the Fantasia Staff. In order to register an account on the Fantasia forum, you must be of 13 years of age or older.
You alone are solely responsible for protecting your account from access by others. We strongly encourage you to select a hard-to-guess password and not re-use that password on any other sites where it may be read by the owners or administrators of that site. It is strictly prohibited to share one’s account, or any sensitive information related to one’s account, with other users. - You must only have one forum account active any given time.
- The Fantasia Staff is not responsible for any messages posted, avatars, usernames or signatures used, or other personal information listed by you or other forum users. The Fantasia Staff does not vouch for or guarantee the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message or submission on the forum. The messages posted reflect the views of the author of the message, and not necessarily the views of the forum itself. If you feel that a message posted, or avatar, username, signature, or any other information displayed by another user, is objectionable, you are encouraged to report said information to us, the Staff. The moderators of this forum will make every effort to remove objectionable messages and information within a reasonable time limit, if it is deemed that removal is necessary. You agree, through your use of this forum, to not post any material which is false, defamatory, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually explicit, threatening, invasive of others’ right to privacy, or otherwise in violation of the law.
- Violations of these guidelines may lead to a temporary or permanent suspension of your account, or being banned from posting in select threads or subforums, at the discretion of the Fantasia Staff.
Prohibitions and Restrictions
Warning PointsWarning points are issued by a member of the Fantasia Staff to a user if said user is deemed to have violated any of the forum rules outlined above or below. The number of warning points given depends on the committed act. Warning points expire after 6 months, if no new warning points have been issued during that period, unless the sum of the warning points exceed 100, in which case they will remain permanently. If a user is issued enough warning points to exceed multiple thresholds at once, the user will be subject to the punishment associated with the highest threshold.
20 Warning Points - 3 Day Temporary Forum Ban
40 Warning Points - 7 Day Temporary Forum Ban
80 Warning Points - 30 Day Temporary Forum Ban
100 Warning Points - Permanent Forum Ban
- Insignificant offenses (10 warning points)
Very slight breaches of the forum etiquette which may result in warning points being applied to the offender at the discretion of the Fantasia Staff.- Spamming, flooding, or double posting
- Repeatedly posting in the wrong section, or posting the same content in multiple sections
- Unnecessarily private messaging members of Staff
- Posting unhelpful, irrelevant or off-topic messages in any given thread
- Posting rude, offensive or negative messages in any given thread
- Bumping threads more frequently than once per day
- Bumping old threads in such a way that it may result in misinformation being spread
- Using excessively large or obnoxious avatars or signatures
- Discussion on social, religious or political topics that create controversy, as well as negatively portraying religious or political figures
- Minor Offenses (30 warning points)
Minor breaches of the forum etiquette which may result in warning points being applied to the offender at the discretion of the Fantasia Staff.- Posting very rude, offensive or negative comments in any given thread
- Cursing excessively, or using profanities or other highly inappropriate language
- Inciting or provoking other users with the intent of beginning destructive or negative arguments
- Continued targeting of another user with unwanted comments
- Sending offensive, threatening or vulgar messages to another user via private message
- Transmitting, or facilitating the transmission of, discriminatory content
- Moderate Offenses (80 warning points)
Moderate breaches of the forum etiquette which may result in warning points being applied to the offender at the discretion of the Fantasia Staff.- Transmitting, or facilitating the transmission of, sexually explicit, excessively violent or otherwise unpleasant or highly inappropriate content
- Promoting, advertising or providing access to hacking information, programs or other third party software in violation with the Game Rules outlined in section 3 of this document
- Describing or providing access to methods through which another user might be convinced to break the rules
- Advertising any real world product, or service without the express permission of the Fantasia Staff
- Major Offenses (100 warning points)
Severe breaches of the forum etiquette which may result in warning points being applied to the offender at the discretion of the Fantasia Staff.- Attacking the server or website with the intent of gaining confidential information or interfering with the ability of the server to properly operate
- Hacking or attacking another user with the intent of interfering with their ability to make use of our services
- Impersonating the Fantasia Staff, or another user, or implying that you have special privileges that are not recognized by the Fantasia administration
- Advertising competitor MapleStory servers or services in an attempt to persuade others to relocate
- Threatening to, or claiming to have committed a serious offense in the Fantasia game
- Distributing other users’, including Staff members, real life information without their express consent. Such information includes, but may not be limited to, addresses, telephone numbers, emails, other contact information, imagery, personal information about others’ lives, including names, locations, hobbies or occupations, as well as false information presented as real
- Distributing or sharing confidential information of any nature, including, but not limited to, Fantasia server information
- Attempting to induce others into revealing personal information
- Circumventing a previous forum ban
- Engaging in robotic advertisement or posting
